Bold REVIEW (Blackberry 9700)

This is my new assistant the Blackberry Bold 9700 dubbed as the ONYX, I got this unit free from Globe as a loyalty reward for being a long time customer, however requiring me to extend my contract with them for another 2 years. But that is totally fine with me, because along with my plan is a bundled package for unlimited call and text to globe, a few minutes to call and text other network and the 160mb for data I could use for my Blackberry phone to push important emails to my phone (it's not unlimited, but who cares I have wifi at home and I only use it when I'm on the road, to make sure I don't miss hubby's emails and my  important work related updates!)

It was love at first time, the moment I laid my eyes on my bb after opening the package from Air21one rainy afternoon. I know that it's the start of something big for me and my new phone, I wondered why I didn't get this phone any sooner, by the way, Globe was bugging me with this "reward" since July 2009 when my contract expired with them. It was a beauty!

The more I use it and discovered the applications, such as push emails, The display looks great. It's crystal clear and very crisp. With a resolution of 480 by 360, it's more than enough to let you watch your favorite movies or videos on the Bold 9700. Blackberry World Applications, which let's us download free/paid software directly to our phone. It's like the apple store for the iphone. The BB Bold 9700 offers a variety of apps which really come in handy. I say that I'm impressed with the various apps available, especially the facebook and twitter apps, and even yahoo messenger do their jobs well, you can even post your blog directly from it. And of course BBM (blackberry messaging) I've come to appreciate it more and more....So far, I don't discover any downsides at all. I had a couple of smartphones before such as the BenQ P50, which was by the way a big disappointment, with issues with the OS, battery life and camera. My new Bold exceeded my expectations!

This is blackberry people! It has the apps people NEED and none of the random shit that serves no real purpose (lightsaber, guns, tower defense games). These phones are for people that use them for work. Work that they need to be thinking about 24/7 because it is their life. My friend works at bloomberg in NYC, and in his interview, they asked what kind of phone he had. When he replied that he owns a blackberry, the interviewer said "Oh good, the phone for people who actually have a Job." I didn't need an iPhone or a Galaxy nor a droid... I need my badass BlackBerry to get me to the net better, better manage my pictures and music but still deliver the world's best as my business phone and email console. Other kids will keep their iPhones ... good for them but when they graduate college and move into the business world, they also will get a BlackBerry from their first company.

I’m a proud owner of RIM’s latest device to date, but not for long because tomorrow August 12, 2010 will be the release of the BB Torch and launching of OS 6.
